ClientWhys Releases New IRS Registered Tax Return Preparer Tax CPE Courses

ClientWhys (IRS Provider #VP8T3), one of the leading tax update CPE providers in the country, just released the 2012 editions of their new IRS approved continuing education courses.

As of 2012, all tax preparers must register and obtain a PTIN number from the IRS. Tax preparers nationwide now need a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education to maintain their standing. As of January 1, 2012, Pub 17 courses are no longer accepted as course material. California tax preparers need an additional 5 hours of state study for a mandated 20 hours. CPAs and enrolled agents will continue with their previous CPE requirements, and are not affected by the new requirements.

ClientWhys has bundled together several online self-study courses to meet the new IRS requirements. The bundled package starts at $60 for IRS registered tax return preparers (RTRP), $80 for California tax preparers (CTEC) and $96 for IRS Enrolled Agents. The bundled course includes 2 hours of ethics, 3 hours of tax update, 10 (IRS RTRP and CTEC) or 19 hours (EA) of federal review and the required 5 hours of state (California CTEC only).

California Registered Tax Preparer (CTEC) - 20 Hours

IRS Enrolled Agents (EA) - 24 Hours

IRS Registered Tax Return Preparers (RTRP) - 15 Hours

These courses provide everything you need to meet the new IRS continuing education requirements for 2012. Our tax update CPE courses provide tax professionals an affordable option for quality education that can be referenced year 'round. These courses replace our previous Krusemark Pub 17 product line and provide a more up-to-date review.
